Questions
Pricing FAQ
Can I upgrade later? +
Yes. Start free and upgrade to Civics Fan whenever you want to create your own private leagues. The upgrade takes effect immediately.
What happens to my leagues if my Civics Fan plan lapses? +
Your existing leagues stay viewable and you can keep playing in them. You just cannot create new private leagues until you renew.
How is Civics Fan billed? +
Civics Fan is $39 per year, billed once a year. There is no monthly option. During the founding period it is half price at $19.50 per year, through the 119th Congress (until January 3, 2027).
Do you offer refunds? +
We offer a 7-day refund on new subscriptions. Contact support@fantasygovernment.com within 7 days of your first charge.
Is there a free trial? +
The Free plan is free forever, no trial needed. You can play the Incumbents and join leagues without paying anything. Civics Fan does not have a separate trial because the free plan already lets you play a full season.
Are there ads on Fantasy Government? +
No. Fantasy Government is ad-free on both plans. We are funded entirely by subscriptions.
Do my league members need to pay to join? +
No. Only the person who creates a private league needs Civics Fan. Everyone you invite joins and plays for free. Just share your invite code and they are in.
What is Follow the Money? +
Follow the Money is a Civics Fan feature during even-numbered years. Through the fall election recess, your whole league answers a shared board of campaign finance questions drawn from public FEC filings: who reports more cash on hand, whether outside spending in a race tops a threshold, which race draws the most. Correct calls add to your season total, giving you a chance to shake up the standings heading into the playoffs.
