By accessing or using Fantasy Government ("the Service") at www.fantasygovernment.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Fantasy Government. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
You may not create more than one account per person
You may not transfer your account to another person
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

4. Non-Partisan Policy

Fantasy Government is strictly non-partisan. Our scoring system is based solely on objective, verifiable legislative activity (votes cast, bills sponsored, etc.) sourced from official government data (Congress.gov, Senate.gov). We do not endorse, promote, or penalize any political party, ideology, candidate, or position. Users must not use the platform to promote political agendas or harass others based on political affiliation.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Harass, bully, or threaten other users
Post spam, advertising, or promotional content in league chats
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems
Use automated bots or scripts to interact with the Service
Reverse engineer or copy any part of the Service
Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it
Post content that is defamatory, obscene, or violates any third-party rights

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features require a paid subscription (Pro or Commissioner plans)
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout
All payments are processed securely by Stripe
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account billing settings
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers

7. Refund Policy

We offer refunds within 7 days of initial purchase if you have not used the paid features. After 7 days, or if you have used the paid features, refunds are not available. To request a refund, contact us at support@fantasygovernment.com.

8. Congressional Data

All legislative data used for scoring is sourced from official U.S. government sources (Congress.gov, Clerk of the House, Senate.gov) and is in the public domain. Fantasy Government does not create or fabricate legislative data. Scoring is based on recorded, official votes and legislative actions. We are not affiliated with the U.S. Congress, any member of Congress, or any government agency.

9. Intellectual Property

The Fantasy Government name, logo, website design, and original content are the property of Fantasy Government LLC and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not use our branding without written permission. User-generated content (league names, team names, chat messages) remains your property, but you grant us a license to display it within the Service.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT SCORING DATA WILL BE PERFECTLY ACCURATE OR TIMELY. LEGISLATIVE DATA MAY BE DELAYED OR CONTAIN ERRORS FROM SOURCE APIS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FANTASY GOVERNMENT LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Wisconsin.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
